Questions and answers
Who develops the game?
Chasing Carrots develops the PC game; Erabit publishes the mobile port. The independent guide at hallsoftorment.com is not operated by either studio.
Can I play multiplayer?
The official Steam FAQ describes it as single-player and says there are no plans to add multiplayer. This is one official policy source.
Is there a demo?
Halls of Torment: Prelude is the separate free demo, not a sequel. The developer FAQ describes its limited content and save import into the main game.
Is The Vault paid DLC?
No. The Vault is part of the base game. The community wiki describes an untimed hall with Lord of Greed; see the Vault guide for the source limits.
How do I unlock Bard?
The wiki’s The Penny Dropped quest requires defeating Lord of Greed and watching the ending. Bard is not a paid-DLC hero. This exact unlock is attributed to one community wiki.
Does Brewmaster mean collecting 40 types of potion?
No. The wiki quest says to drink 40 health potions in one run. It is separate from collecting potion ingredients.
Are all runs 30 minutes?
No. The base store describes 30-minute runs, but The Vault has no timer and Kill Count mode ends at a kill target. The free mobile app also has a different session structure.
Does Steam support cloud saves?
The Steam store lists Steam Cloud. That feature does not make phone saves compatible with Steam; the developer FAQ and Erabit both say those do not sync.
Are mods officially supported?
The developer FAQ allows personal single-player modifications but does not support problems caused by them. Current file versions and availability belong to the original catalogue.
Is it worth buying?
US Steam list was $6.66 on 29 October 2026, on sale at $4.99. The same appdetails payload shows Metacritic 88 and a recommendations total of 30,943. This site does not add its own score. The English-only percentage was not in that payload, so it is not repeated here.
Is there a Halls of Torment 2?
No sequel was on Steam. Prelude is the older demo. The new purchases are The Boglands and The Lost Archives.
Is it on Switch or Mac?
Neither, as of 29 October 2026. See the Switch page.
Is there endless mode?
Kill Count is part of the October 2026 notes after certain lords, for example 35,000 kills in the Archives after Lord of Deceit. A mode literally named endless was not on the pages I used.
How many characters are there?
Wiki: 16 on 29 October 2026. A September 2026 list used 14. The App Store Premium blurb says 13. All three stay.
Do phone purchases include Steam DLC?
No. Mobile saves do not sync, and The Lost Archives was not listed for the phone apps.
