Halls of Torment Builds
Checked 2026-10-29. Covers 1.0, The Boglands (2025-10-28) and The Lost Archives (2026-10-22).
Compare three named loadouts from the Synergetic Builds community guide. Their equipment choices predate parts of the October 2026 balance update, so each remains a dated recommendation rather than a measured current-patch ranking.
Three loadouts from one community guide
These lists are from the Steam guide “Synergetic Builds 1.0+ Edition”, one community guide by Ulyaoth and collaborators. They are not an official tier. Gear names are quoted so you can find the same rows. The guide predates parts of the October 2026 balance pass.

What the 22 Oct 2026 notes changed
Steam news for 22 October 2026, the same day as The Lost Archives, describes a free balance pass: enemies gain 50% health and 20% damage, player move speed rises about 20% (about 10% for Norseman), many abilities deal more damage, Affliction / Fragile / Slow stacks no longer decay, Slow caps at 70%, Affliction can spread, and health potions heal for double. Any build written before that note is a pre-patch build.
Inquisitor and Blood Apostle do not have a settled guide in that Steam document. The wiki describes Inquisitor around Judgment and Execution, and Blood Apostle around spending health. A Reddit thread treats Mark of Sacrifice on Blood Apostle as very strong. That is early player talk, not a finished build.
Questions and answers
What is the best character?
There is no official ranking. Community tier lists disagree with each other; see the tier-list page for the spread instead of a single winner.
Do Boglands builds still apply?
Crone and Alchemist appear in the same Steam guide. Re-check them against the 22 October 2026 notes before you copy the bans and trait order.
