Agony is the advanced hall mode described by the public wiki. Follow the unlock conditions before comparing ranks, progression and rewards; the cited rank rules are one community source, and The Vault follows its own rules.
Agony progression reference
The 22 October 2026 official PC update says Kill Count mode raises Agony through kills; the ordinary timer mode uses elapsed time. The Vault exception and rank range below remain single-wiki information.

What the wiki commits to
The Fandom Agony page describes ranks 0 through 5, progress from the timer or from kills, and a penalty when you revive. I am not filling in per-rank loot or enemy multipliers, because those cells were not in the summary I could verify line by line, and guessing them would be worse than a short page. The Vault page says Agony is unavailable there. That exception is also the wiki.
Sage unlocks from Dissonance Agony: stay in Chambers of Dissonance on Agony until the lord appears. Several potion ingredients, including Belladonna, Salsify, Wallflower, Asafoetida, and Pink Salt, are marked as Agony spawns on the potion page.

Anthony Ray TV’s “How to unlock AGONY mode” was uploaded on 8 August 2023, during early access, months before the 24 September 2024 1.0 release. Use it as a historical clip. The rank table to trust for the current game is the wiki page checked on 29 October 2026, and even that is one publisher.
Questions and answers
Does every hall have Agony?
The Vault does not, according to its wiki page. Other halls are where Agony ingredients and the Sage quest are listed. I do not have a per-hall on/off grid beyond that.
What does a revive cost?
The wiki says there is a revive penalty. It does not give a number I am willing to repeat without the exact sentence in front of a second source, so the amount is left blank.
